時間の期間について話すときは「half an hour」を使うことができますが、ある時点の事柄について話すときは、「half」又は「half an hour」という言葉を加えて言うことはできません。 ただし、英語を母国語とする年配者は、「half past three」と言う表現を使って、3:30、15:30を示すことがあります。

When we are talking about amounts of time, we can use half an hour, but when we are talking about a point in time, we cannot say the hour plus the word “half”.  However, older generations of native English speakers sometimes say, “Half-past three” to indicate 3:30.
